Ashcombe based Surrey Gators win Grand Prix

Surrey Gators sitting volleyball team have won the Sitting Grand Prix series and won the Grand Prix final on Saturday 16th April, beating London Lynx 3-0 in the final.

Surrey Gators are based at The Ashcombe Volleyball Centre and train on Thursdays alongside the Ashcombe Super 8 and Division 3 teams. Training starts again in September 2011 and for more details contact Ashley Trodden 07938 627860 or Freda Bussey 07827 908655. Sitting Volleyball can be played by pretty much anyone. The only requirements are that you can sit unaided on the floor, move yourself around and you can track a moving ball through the air. At the recreational level, it is a sport that anyone and everyone can play socially together whether they happen to be male or female, young or old, able bodied or disabled.
