3-2 loss against Worthing Devils

Ashcombe Durrington Aces lost their first game of the season on Monday 21st November at home against Worthing Devils. Ashcombe seemed to be in control when leading 2-1 and lead the fourth set but Worthing came back strongly and took the match 3-2. Robyn Wisdom continues to develop as the lead setter for the team and Sian Warren was hitting with as much power as Theresa Farley was for the opposition. Isi Liebchen continues to impress in both defense and attack and Taina Bedeschi is gaining in confidence in her new role as opposite setter. Georgia Bird and Megan Warren showed strength at the net when blocking and attacking.

Another success for Ashcombe Durrington Aces

Another Sussex League victory for Ashcombe Durrington Aces in the Sussex Womens League against Dolphins 2 makes it four out of four successes. The next match for the team is on Sunday 6th November against Worthing Demons 6.00.p.m. at Worthing High School. The following weekend Ashcombe play Adur Battlecats 1 at Lancing Leisure Centre on Sunday 13th November at 6.00.p.m. Ashcombe complete their first half of the season with a home game against Worthing Devils on Monday 21st November.

Another win in the Sussex league

Ashcombe Durrington Aces beat Adur Battlecats 1on Sunday 13th November at Lancing Leisure Centre. Robyn Wisdom continues to improve as team setter and Isi Liebchen was named as Most Valuable Player for Ashcombe. Powerful and accurate spiking by Sian Warren and Isi Liebchen was the key to Ashcombe's success.

Success in matches against Kings, Adur Battlecats 2 and Dolphins 1 have given a kick start to the new 2011-12 season for Ashcombe's Durrington Aces in the Sussex Womens League Division 1. Three wins out of three takes Ashcombe to the top of the league table. Ashcombe will be playing mostly Under 18 players in the Sussex league and the team will be coached by Jess Smith and Freda Bussey as part of the new Ashcombe Junior Volleyball Academy. Sian Warren, Georgia Bird, Isi Liebchen, Megan Warren, Robyn Wisdom, Taina Bedeschi, Emily Rogers, Rosanna O'Mahony, Abbey Peters and Emily Begley form the core of the team. Next match is on Monday 17th 7.30.p.m. match start October v Dolphins 2 at Durrington High School BN13 1JX.
