A 3-1 win over SGTV Solent on 30th October was the prize for Ashcombe's determined efforts. The young Ashcombe side, captained by Amanda Slater used a variety of combinations of team line ups to allow setters Robyn Wisdom and Georgia Bird to use their hitters to best effect. 16 year old Alex Standifird was named MVP in both matches but it was an all round team performance that helped win the game. Earlier in the day Ashcombe 2 lost 3-0 to Surrey Orcas despite fine defensive play by Isi Liebchen and Sian Warren in particular.
