Under 16 girls to be hosted by Ashcombe January 2012

Ashcombe will host the Under 16 National Championships Round 2 on Saturday 14th January 2012. As Under 15 National Champions Ashcombe have been given a bye through to the second round where they will play the winners from the Wessex [Bournemouth] and Richmond pools.

New Grant for Junior Volleyball in and around Dorking

Ashcombe VC have received a Small Grant Award from Sport England for £7,168 to develop junior volleyball at The Ashcombe School and other local schools: The Priory School, Therfield and St. Andrews.  The project will develop opportunities for junior participation in volleyball within the surrounding area by delivering after school coaching. Pupils will also be offered Young volleyball Officials and Coaching qualifications. A new club will be started from 5.00-7.00.p.m. on Thursdays to develop these players and link them with The Ashcombe Volleyball Club. The new club starts on Thursday 3rd November.

Junior Summer Performance Volleyball Training Camps 1st-5th August 2011

There are still spaces for junior players at The Ashcombe Summer Performance Camps at The Ashcombe Volleyball Centre. Monday 1st to Wednesday 3rd August for the Intermediate Camp for players aged 11-15 with one year or less competitive volleyball experience £60 for 3 days and Thursday 4th and Friday 5th for the Advanced Camp for players aged 15-17 with more than one year of volleyball experience, £40 for 2 days . Improve your volleyball game this summer with Ashcombe Volleyball Club's exciting summer training programme for boys and girls. 10.00.a.m. - 4.00.p.m. each day.

 

Volleyball a great hit at National Play Day

Ashcombe held a free Come and Try Volleyball session at Southwick recreation Ground on 3rd August as part of the National Play Day. Ashcombe coaches and young leaders Robyn Wisdom, Hannah Carey and Emily Rogers helped the large crowds of young people to a taste of volleyball. Over 600 youngsters attended the day which included sports, arts, and many other fun activities.

Ashcombe players success in South East squads

Junior players from Ashcombe formed the basis of the South East Under 16 girls team providing eight of the squad: Emily Begley, Abbey Peters, Robyn Wisdom, Isi Liebchen, Sophie Szyszko, Dysen Neeb, Rosanna O'Mahoney and Lauren Joyce. Emily Rogers and Katie Begley played in the Under 14 girls team and Dominic Wisdom and Will McDonald were selected for the Under 15 boys team. The teams had some good results, the most successful teams being the Under 17 boys and the Under 14 girls A team that reached the semi final stages.
