Three 2-0 wins against Richmond, Barton Blockers and Great Yarmouth & Gorleston takes Ashcombe Under 18 team to the last 8 National finals at Kettering on Saturday 26th February 2011. Captain Hannah Carey was dominant in attack supported by power play from Georgia Bird and Sian Warren. Serving by Ashcombe was strong with many points being won by direct aces. Strength at the net was shown by Beth Taylor, Megan Warren, Lauren Joyce and Stacey Fullerton, rarely allowing an attack through the strong blocking line up. Sophie Szyszko and Taina Badeschi both played with control, showing maturity beyond their 14 years. Setter Robyn Sayers found her attackers well and proved a great addition to the Ashcombe line up for 2011.
