
The new Ashcombe Under 15 Girls team won 1 match and drew 2 games in the National Under 15 competition but still ended up in 3rd place on points. The competition was held at Ashcombe VC on Saturday 11th February and teams came from New Forest, team Southampton and Sussex Dolphins. New Forest were placed 4th after losing to all teams 2-0 but the other matches all ended up with 1-1 score lines and the result had to be decided on points for and against. Sussex Dolphins were placed 1st, team Southampton 2nd and Ashcombe 3rd. The new team comprises of players that train at The Ashcombe School on Thursdays 5-6.15.p.m, and Durrington High School, Worthing from 6-8.00.p.m. on Mondays. new junior players of all standards are welcome to both these sessions. Ashcombe Squad: Isi Liebchen [captain] Emily Rogers, Katy Begley, Rebecca Quirke, Arianne Turner, Ailsa McDonald, Matilda Taylor, Edie Adams, Freya Mc Donald, Rachel Higgins, Lauren Jones, Amy Richards, Lydia Goodwin and Alice Goodwin. Coach: Freda Bussey. The boys competition between New Forest and Team Southampton was won by New Forest 2-0.

The first round of Ashcombe's journey in the Under 18 Women's National Championships was played at St Thomas More School, home of Croydon Volleyball Club. The team was without Alex Standifird and Georgia Bird, playing for Ashcombe Dorking 1 in the Super 8 match against Malory, but was still strong enough to win every game 2-0. Convincing wins over American School London, Richmond and Croydon takes Ashcombe to the second round at Wessex on Sunday 15th January. Sophie Szyszko set with growing confidence and Sian Warren, Isi Liebchen, Maddie Titus and Kristen Erickson showed real power at the net. Lauren Joyce's blocking was awesome and along with Megan Warren they snuffed out most attacks. Daisy Haynes and Taina Bedeschi both served and attacked with confidence leading to a real squad performance. By the time Georgia and Alex arrived from their successful win over Malory the competition was won but the two players still had the energy to help Ashcombe win the last match against Croydon. Ashcombe Under 16 and 18 teams won all their matches 2-0 to reach the last 8 stage of the National Volleyball Championships 2012. In the Under 16 competition Ashcombe beat Team Southampton, Richmond and Wessex and in the Under 18 section Ashcombe were victorious over old rivals Wessex and Devizes. The Last 8 competition takes place at The Kettering Volleyball Centre on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2012.

Croydon, Bexley, Richmond and American School London will be the opposition for Ashcombe in the first round of the National Under 18 Women's Cup. Games start at 11.a.m. with Ashcombe's first game at 11.40.a.m. against ASL. All games are the best of 2 sets with a capped time limit of 35 minutes. The competition will be played at Thomas More Catholic School, Purley, Surrey CR8 2XP. Ashcombe team: Sian Warren, Isi Liebchen, Kristen Erickson, Megan Warren, Daisy Haynes, Lauren Joyce, Sophie Szyszko, Taina Bedeschi and Maddie Titus. Two teams qualify for the second round to be held at Bournemouth and Essex on 15th January.
