Ashcombe Volleyball Club provides opportunities for all players to play beach volleyball at Yellowave beach courts, Brighton and by entering beach volleyball competitions.

Beach training and matches

Training for beach volleyball started on Friday 11th April 2-4.00.p.m for Ashcombe players. The weather conditions were windy and cold but the sun shined on the 8 platers willing to brave the elements.

Monday Nights at Yellowave

Regular training and matches start on Monday 11th May 2008 at Yellowave Brighton for all Sussex League registered players.

5-7.00.p.m. Junior players £1.00 per session

7-9.00.p.m. Adult players £2.00 per session [ £3.00 for non-registered players]

Junior Inter Regional Beach Volleyball Championships

Inter Regional Junior Beach Championships come to Brighton

On Friday 31st August the Inter Regional beach Championships took place at Yellowave, Brighton - Ashcombe players represented South East England and London

Under 18 Women Theresa Farley and Chantelle Bashford - 2nd place

Under 18 Men Rob Pennifold and Marc Richards - 2nd place

Under 16 girls Susan Hoare and Jess Grimson - Winners

Under 16 girls Nara Hassanova and Maria Frost - 4th place

Under 15 boys Jimmy Carey and Tom Marshall Semi finalists

Under 14 girls Hannah Carey, Beth Taylor and Georgia Bird - 2nd place

Under 14 girls Megan Warren and Sian Warren - 3rd place

 

 

Sandbanks Beach Champions

Ashcombe players came home with several championship titles from the British National Beach Championships held on the beach at Sanbanks on 14th and 15th July. Susan Hoare and Jess Grimson won the Under 16 girls title, Nara Hasanova and Maria Frost won the Under 16 "B" title with Izzy Fumagali and Lucy Pierce as the runners-up. Beth Taylor, Chrissie Chaplin and Georgia Bird were also runners up in the 3 aside Under 14 divison. Chantelle Bashford and Izzy Fumagali won the Under 18 "B" competition with Maria Frost and Nara Hasanova as runners up.
